Gimhae City announced on the 27th that it received the Encouragement Award in the category of Excellent Cities and Counties for Agricultural and Fishery Food Exports at the 29th Gyeongnam Agricultural and Fishery Export Tower Ceremony held on the 26th at the Changwon Convention Center (CECO).

The award ceremony was organized to commend cities, counties, and companies that contributed to expanding agricultural and fishery food exports within the province and to promote export activation. Gimhae City won the Encouragement Award based on the excellent export performance of local companies and administrative support.

Notably, three export companies in the Gimhae region achieved significant export results and received export towers accordingly. Asia Food was awarded the $3 million Export Tower with export sales of $3,231,000 mainly in processed seaweed and fish products.

Indeok Foods recorded export sales of $1,179,000 mainly from rice cake products, receiving the $1 million Export Tower, and A-One Foods earned the $500,000 Export Tower with $857,000 in cookie exports.

These companies continue to grow steadily based on stable export foundations and significantly contribute to strengthening Gimhae’s competitiveness in agricultural and fishery food exports.

Hwang Hee-cheol, director of Gimhae Agricultural Technology Center, said, <em>“This ceremony is a meaningful occasion to encourage the efforts of companies leading our city’s agricultural and fishery exports and to share the vision for exports together. We will continue to strive to discover promising export items and support companies.”</em>
